About Us

In the Beginning:

Yes, we are horse people through-and-through. We have three of our own plus two in our care, and we know all about mucking out, slogging through mud in winter and the high cost of keeping these wonderful animals. We also compete regularly and hack out just for fun in addition to the intensive schooling that competing horses require. To anyone not involved in equine activities, it is difficult to understand the sacrifices we make for our horses and the amount of work that goes into keeping a horse fit, healthy, happy and ready for competition.

Christine has been involved with horses for over 25 years including a 10 year break when the children were growing up. John didn't start riding until about 1998 when Christine bought him four riding lessons as a birthday present. Prior to that, he had been as disinterested as most men are, hiding his fear of these big, majestic creatures behind an attitude of cynicism about the high cost and in his view, questionable benefits of horse ownership. How that changed once he had cantered a horse for the first time.

The Growing Years:

In 2007, we were each loaned an ex-riding school horse when the school in Hadleigh, Suffolk converted to a livery yard. We began to go to local competitions and the rivalry between us was quite intense. We made videos of our competitions and experimented with video effects and transitions. We began to understand the fun and the practical benefits of reviewing the videos of our efforts on horseback and began to use them as a teaching aid. We had been making videos for some years but once we started competing, we saw how we could benefit and improve from reviewing our own performances.

Once the rider is able to see their own position on the horse and how their legs and hands move, then it is much easier to understand the corrections that are needed to improve the horse/rider partnership. On one occasion after John had struggled through a competition, we noticed in the video how his horse had problems with movement in certain situations. A visit from the back-lady shortly afterwards and all was well. In addition to these practical learning benefits, it is very satisfying to be able to look back at that clear round or class-winning performance in real-time.

Where we're going:

We have produced riding videos for many of our friends and some of the nice things that they have written can be seen in the Testimonials section. We have a very talented young video designer Zoe Talbot on the team and she specialises in producing exciting and dramatic videos for other equine web sites in addition to producing content for us. Zoe is involved with the RDA and recently took part in the national finals where she performed impressively in side-saddle. In summary, we are not just a business, we are keen horse lovers who take pride not just in our work with the horses, but also in our production of memorable movies that show them at their best either in general work or in competition. We are a bit different from the average video production company - we live the horse life, we don't just film it.
